There is an enormous variety of things to see and do in Townsville, so why not plan to stay a couple of extra days and enjoy what the region has to offer.

The city and its precincts are continually evolving.  The Strand is a major attraction in its own right and boasts over two kilometres of sandy beaches, walking paths, local artworks, picnic areas, cafes, bars and restaurants.  If you have children there is no better place to take them than The Strand Water Park which is free and only a 5 minute walk from Tropic Sails' base.

If it's fun you're after then take a scenic ride with Tropicana Tours in their famous stretch jeep, or learn about the history of this beautiful region with Tony from Kookaburra Tours.  Learn more about the amazing Great Barrier Reef before you go snorkeling or diving by paying Reef HQ a visit - only a 10 minute walk from Tropic Sail's base.  Discover and learn about the indigenous cultures of the tropical north including the Palm Island people before you depart by taking a visit to The Cultural Centre - right beside the aquarium. In this same centre you will also find an Imax Theatre and The Museum of Tropical North Qld which is home to the wreck of the Pandora.

If it is more adventure and adrenalin that you seek, then why not throw yourself from a plane with Coral Sea Skydivers.  Dive the Yongala with Adrenalin Dive or see Townsville from the top of Castle Hill on the back of a Harley Davidson with Townsville Motor Cycle Tours.

Whatever your pace, you will find it here in Townsville.  Click on the Local Attractions link at the bottom of the page to find out more about these activities and book direct.  Or if you'd prefer we can make the booking for you when you choose to take a sailing holiday with us.
